The Journey

The Evolution of Online Therapy with Willow Renée

As a dedicated associate marriage and family therapist, my practice evolved from a need for accessible mental health care that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. My extensive training in psychology and holistic healing methods has enabled me to support clients effectively in their personal journeys.

Additionally, scholarly research lead to the creation of my thesis titled: “Between Worlds:
Teletherapy as a Liminal Space for Hakomi and Depth Psychological Practice.”

Things to Highlight…

Depth Psychotherapy:

Depth psychotherapy is a psychodynamic approach to access the human psyche. Its origins are often attributed to Carl G. Jung. Aspects that are commonly drawn from in my practice include, and are not limited to, archetypal explorations, imaginal, accessing the unconscious though the language of images, symbols and sensations, and dreams.

Somatic Body-Centered Psychotherapy:

Using the Hakomi principle of non-violence, somatic inquiry is used to study the body during states of mindfulness. The breath may be used in states of guided mindfulness, as well as tuning into the body and noticing if there are any images or sensations that are noticed. The body can hold onto parts of our lived experiences that may have not been processed by the psyche.

Mindfulness:

Mindfulness allows both the client and therapist to become attuned to the present moment, as it arises in a session. It offers clients a way to slowdown and examine what is happening in their mind and body when activation from a specific event or emotion arises.
